The 4 top ways to boost your work-life balance


What comes to mind when you think about nourishing your wellbeing? The first thing most women think of is their work-life balance. Women today juggle so many different hats that it can leave us feeling exhausted and drained at the end of the day.

For more than five years, I’ve been studying work-life balance and how it affects modern working women. The more women climb the ladder of success, the more they sacrifice as a result. Not only do women today sacrifice their well-being, but the relationships with their loved ones.

As I work with my clients who are professional working women, they’ve shared with me their struggles of having to balance climbing the ladder of success, while maintaining healthy relationships at home. But there are some key ways to bring the balance back, and nourish your wellbeing.

1. Bundle your tasks

Whether it be responding back to emails or making phone calls, it’s important to bundle your tasks so you can increase your productivity and save you a lot of time. Mark out the time, go in hard, and wipe those tasks off your list!

2. Schedule “me” time

If you’re anything like me, it’s easy to get caught up in building a business. That’s why it’s crucial for you to make “me” time a priority. How do you do this? Schedule it! Even if it’s spending 10 minutes in the evening to decompress, do it. You can only be turned on for so long until you begin to fall apart.

3. Ask for help

As women, we believe that we can do everything and do it brilliantly. I’m not saying that this is a bad thing, but once in a while, it’s okay to ask for help. This is especially true with your family. One my clients struggled with asking for help from her family members. Throughout our sessions, I empowered her to take the step forward in having her ask her family for help. She now asks her husband and children to help clean the dishes after dinner. This not only allows her to relax, but she is teaching her family members about boundaries.

4. Explore your passions

Take the time to explore what interests you. This may be journaling, volunteering at your local church, or reading. Whatever your passions are, take the time to nourish them. This is one of the priority keys for life… you need to spend some time doing what you love.
