The best ways to build a business website without breaking the bank

on

It’s hardly a secret that your business requires a good website. This will help you reach out to a wider audience, gain more credibility, find more customers, increase sales; and so much more.

There is, however, one big dark gray cloud hanging over your head; the costs. Many companies will pay thousands of dollars to get their website built and ready for action. For a small business, this might seem like too much money and can put you in financial jeopardy.

Which is why I’ve thought of a few easy ways you can build a great business website on a budget. Here are my ideas to help you save money on your site:

Build your site using WordPress

WordPress has been around for a long time and is a really great way to create a site from scratch. Many people use it to host their blogs, but it can also be used to host a small business website. The benefits of this platform are that it’s very easy to use, quick to get started, and you can host your site for very little. In fact, some of the best WordPress hosting out there is available for a just a few dollars per month. It dramatically reduces your expenses as you’ve almost got a fully functional site up and running without spending much money at all.

Head to fiverr to find a designer

Normally, web designers charge an arm and a leg for their services. However, you can get a great website designed by a talented person, for as little as five dollars. The trick is to head over to Fiverr, which is a freelance site where people offer their creative services for a price that’s normally around that five dollar mark. Consequently, you can find a designer and get them to come up with a design for your site that looks professional and will work on WordPress. They can carry out the work – and do a very professional job – without demanding you pay them a fortune. It’s a great way to save money, but also help out a creative person that’s just trying to find a bit of work.

Optimize the site yourself

When you pay loads to have your site built, a lot of the costs come from optimizing your site. This means making sure it’s set up and ready for search engines to crawl through and rank your pages. You can do a lot of this by yourself if you know what you’re doing. There are loads of resources you can read or watch that show you how to implement keywords or organize your site, so it performs well in search engines. Plus, by having a WordPress site, you’ve already ensured your site is optimized for mobile web searches as well, which is a bonus.

Small businesses don’t need to empty their pockets to get a great website up and running. If you follow my tips, you can build one that barely costs any money at all. Consider doing this if you’ve got a tight budget and can’t afford the extortionate web design fees of today.
