Ideally, it would utilize all the principles of attraction marketing, pulling new clients to you. Is there one such tool that delivers it all with a high perceived value?  The answer has to be YES in order for you to maximize the time, energy, effort, and money spent on your business growth endeavor.

To uncover the magic formula, all you need to do is look to those who continue to ride the wave of success and gather increased exposure and followers. A worthwhile philosophy is:  if you want to be successful, do what successful people do.

Have you noticed that so many successful people have published a book? From Tony Robbins to Richard Branson to Arianna Huffington, these legends published their experiences, how they think, and what they do that will benefit their readers. Their notoriety increases as their exposure in the business world catapults with each new publication. What separates them from you? Nothing! Except that little voice in your head that says, you can’t. So, let’s explore why you can!

You are an authority

You have total authority over the way you conduct your business. You know the mission and vision of your company, and you act accordingly in governing those business practices. Telling the story of how you launched your business and why it is of great value to your consumer capture more interest to the public. You can present your company in the light that you want it to be understood by every existing and potential customer. There is no better way to enlighten the buying public about your services than in story form- published in a book!

You are the expert

The mainstay of your business is your product, whether it is a widget or a service. You are the expert around that product and know best how your consumer will benefit from using it. Educating the buying public on how your product fulfills a need is a vital key to sales. Since no one knows your product better than yourself, you truly are the expert in your marketplace. The minute you elevate yourself to the status of being a published author, your credibility in your field grows exponentially. You become the “go to” person.  After all, you wrote the book about it!

You add value

You believe in your company, what you do and what you have to offer. You have identified a need and know how to fulfill that need or solve a problem. All too often, it is assumed that others know what a company can do for them. Yet, in reality, they don’t. Writing a book helps to shine a light on your value proposition, enlightening the consumer that they have a need that your product will resolve!

But …

  • I don’t know how to write a book.
  • I never thought of writing a book.
  • I have always wanted to write a book but haven’t.
  • I am not sure if I should hire a publisher or self-publish.
  • I don’t know where to begin.

Forget all the reasons you can’t and focus on why and how you can! Just like any facet of your business, when something needs to be accomplished or implemented, you always found a way to make it happen. That will be the case in this instance as well. Do not allow the ‘buts’ to stop you in your tracks. If you can envision your story, see yourself as the authority in your marketplace. Be willing to share your expertise and add value to every consumer. Then you will learn how to write a book and get it into the hands of the buying public.

Instead of the typical dissemination of information through business cards, marketing tools, advertising pieces, billboards and TV commercials, distribute your published book. Imagine using excerpts from your book to facilitate your online articles, posts, and tweets. Envision being a guest speaker in your community where you verbally share your written word. Be the person in the know on radio shows and podcasts! Write it once and re-purpose the material over and over again for exposure to you, your product and your company.

You can get massive exposure through your role as an author faster than you ever have as a business owner, CEO, or top producing salesperson.
