Membership Guidelines

We’re always happy to look at articles that are highly targeted advice and tips for business and career women, particularly from women who are willing to share what they’ve learned and the best advice they could give to other women. It’s all about helping women on their career and business paths — something of an international online network of advice — plus the chance for writers to promote themselves and their businesses to other women entrepreneurs.

Some guidelines to help below, with notes on what you must include when you submit an article:

There is no deadline. We publish daily and schedule a couple of weeks ahead. We prefer not to put deadline pressure on already busy women – which is most of us!

In terms of format, articles must not have been published or offered elsewhere, and should not be third party advertorial. If you wish to have advertising on the site, we do have arrangements for that — just let us know and we will discuss whether your campaign is a relevant fit for our audience. Otherwise any links or text deemed to be advertorial or commercial will be removed in the editing process.

Articles don’t need to be lengthy — just 1000 or so words will often do (but take more if you need them) — and we prefer to have each one be a ‘micro topic’ about one point or aspect, rather than trying to cram a whole ‘big picture’ into a single article.

We love subheads because it makes it easier for the reader (and the writer) and we also love to include at least three or so ‘tips and takeaways’ that women can use to further their career or business goals.

Please submit your contribution as a Word document, with the details listed below embedded in it.

We absolutely insist that each contributor article include a paragraph of bio at the end with a link either through to the website or business they own, plus Twitter handle and also links to their most recent book or paper, if applicable, so that readers can find them. We want our audience to know they are part of a global network. Note: including promotional links to a business or site you do not own will be considered third party advertorial.

You should also send a good web size headshot photo (no more than 200kb) when you send the first article, so we can build a personal profile page. Submission of an article after we send you these guidelines constitutes acceptance of the guidelines and any editing we undertake to have a submission meet them, and permission for us to retain the published work on
