Holly, you DID have a choice


Holly Madison is on the PR circuit flogging her book Down the Rabbit Hole, outlining her ‘horrible’ time living in — and profiting off – her stint as Hugh Hefner’s girlfriend and star turn on cable TV as one of the Girls of the Playboy Mansion.

As part of the PR bait, she’s claimed she had no choice but to submit to the sleazy activities at the Playboy Mansion.

However, to make a decision that you know is wrong, profit off it for many years then turn around and say you had no choice – well, that’s bullshit.

Holly claims she should have walked away from Hef the first time they met and he offered her the drugs he calls “thigh openers”.  Yes, Holly you should have. But you didn’t.

Her justification is that she had no money and was soon to be evicted from her own apartment. Great. Thanks for that. Every other 19-year-old girl who is in the same situation can just go and submit to unwanted sex with geriatric creeps, right?

I mean, getting a job as a waitress and working at improving your opportunities via an education like every other girl … obviously not a choice?

Yes we all make mistakes. I am sure Holly hated her time at the Playboy Mansion. She must have. With the $1000 weekly clothing allowance, free plastic surgery and an endless supply of hair and body treatments.

Now let’s face reality here, Holly had ample opportunities to leave but she didn’t want to. Even worse, she stayed on when the reality TV series “Girls of the Playboy Mansion” started. Why? Because of the profile and fame.

Yes, Hefner may target vulnerable and naïve young women – very young women indeed in some cases. And he may well be creepy, porn-obsessed and chauvinistic to the point of being just this side of sex slavery. But there is always a choice for them.

We all have freedom to decide what we want to do in life. But to profit off wrong living or wrong doing and then say you regret it/had no choice (as a lever to profit further with your story) is morally incomprehensible.
