Attending a line management training course was the best decision I ever made!


The world works on things getting done, items being shipped, and products being made. The production line is ground zero for everything around us. In our modern world, aside from maybe a few outlier communities, a giant percentage of things we are in possession of was made on an assembly line and shipped through a logistics team. This is how we get cool stuff, and there has yet to be another effective means. Because everything is made in this manner and it so heavily affects global commerce, the need for massive amounts of manpower every single day becomes a huge cost in terms of time and effort. The person in charge of making it all come together at the level of production is the line manager. That’s me, and as a line manager, taking a line management training course was the best decision I ever made.

About me

To start, let me give you a little bit of info about my background. I started out in warehouses, building my resume and hauling goods. I loaded trucks, delivered packages, and moved tons upon tons of product around the entire operation. From there I got to know the ins and outs of the business. What a P&L was, how payroll worked, who and what kind of person was right for each job. I wasn’t just content with clocking in, doing my job and leaving. I wanted more. I wanted more within the world of commerce. I knew I wasn’t going into medical school. I was never an artistic type. What I knew how to do was lock in on a job that I found meaningful, and make the best of it. That’s how I got into line management.

How I did it

I came across Development Academy through a business management forum. I saw the accelerated courses they had and the concise information that they were offing. They weren’t going to waste my time with a bunch of useless information meant to “build” on the subject. No, they were right to the point. That’s the kind of person I am—direct, and I appreciate the same in any sort of class setting. Take a look for yourself. What a line manager does, abridged

Line management means being the direct instruction and overseer of what goes down on the floor. You’re in charge of knowing it all, from orders to timelines, to quality control measures. Not everyone can get a team to come in and perform to their effective ability, day in and day out. They need a leader. They need someone that can get them motivated enough to get the job done. Let’s face it, we’re not out here flexing cash and selling dreams like some tech startup. We’re here to work and provide for our families. So if you get into the Development Academy and complete their course, you’ll have all the ammunition and know-how necessary to put out fires and keep the line moving so that everybody gets paid.

We may have some high-minded ideas about what we ought to be doing as a manager, but with the real-life, experience-based curriculum you’ll be getting yourself into, you’ll come to know really quickly that it’s about productivity, satisfaction, and the happy medium in which people are willing to trade time for a paycheck.
