It’s not just a man’s world, it’s a woman’s world too. Do what you love, be your own boss and never let go of what you know is possible. Strive for a great world, as sometimes the greatest return on investment is your generosity of heart, even in business. My father shared these words with me at the age of seven and they became the foundation from which I have created my business for the last twenty-five years.
As a woman, an entrepreneur and business owner, we often face challenges in the workplace and running businesses that our male contemporaries may not. Finding what it is that ignites you to push ahead, jump hurdles and keep going may be the very thing that catapults your business beyond that of the daily requirement of paying the bills.
Far too often we tend to model ourselves after other people, businesses and our male peers. We tend to do what has always been done and as women, we can often move into a more masculine way of doing business. One of the gifts of doing business differently is using a creative advantage with out of the box techniques.
What if you use your wisdom to your advantage, be inventive and vocalize your creativity, willing to try a new strategy and move out of the old systems and methods?
My business is ever changing and evolving. It does not follow a model. My team and I ask a lot of questions, use idea sessions to our advantage and listen to what is required. One of the great advantages to running a global business and thriving is honoring myself and the care that is required to travel, stand in front of large audiences for hours, facilitate groups and individuals and be away from home for long periods of time. This is the baseline to never giving up and there is a reward greater than the bottom line on a spreadsheet that truly inspires the desire to keep moving and asking for more.
In the business of empowering others, seeing one person make a 1-degree shift to a greater future for themselves truly regenerates me from any of the mundane, day to day tasks that doing business requires. It’s also not specific to this particular field of work. Looking at many entrepreneur businesses, there is a gem, a golden nugget that ignites the next day, to get up and bake another dozen cupcakes, sew another napkin, open the doors to the studio or salon. It’s not about what the business is that is important as much as the impact you are making in the world when it comes to creating your future.
What are the dreams and aspirations of your future? Have you set a target to creating what you desire?
There is a uniqueness to it where we stay true to ourselves
- Be authentic and genuine
- Use your wisdom to your advantage
- Be inventive and think outside of the box
- Vocalize your creativity
- Collaborate and create teams that honor, generate and support the greater target
- Do whatever it takes and never give up on you or the dream
- Use your insatiable drive and be the invitation to a greater possibility
Like the message from my father at the beginning of the article: It’s not just a man’s world, it’s a woman’s world too. Do what you love, be your own boss and go after your dreams.
The energy of Live Your ROAR is creating after abuse. I started this business as the ambassador of truly living and thriving beyond the abusive beginning. To be the example to others, that regardless of the cards we are dealt in life, there is a possibility. Today we are no longer fighting for abuse to be known and seen. Because many people have chosen to speak out, move beyond the barriers and say enough, we know about it, people are getting free and we all have a choice for more. It’s now about the creation of your life, being the solution outside of problems.
How do you know you are on the right path to your future? It’s simple, are you reaching beyond the past, this moment and taking a step no matter how small? Are you willing to make a 1-degree shift from where you are right now to the future you know is possible? I share this with each of my clients, it’s not about the big moves, although they count, it’s about the willingness for that 1-degree shift, like a boat in the water, that one degree creates a big movement.
- What would you like your life to look like in the future?
- Do you have plans or dreams?
- Do you see yourself with a successful business traveling the globe?
- Are you retired and living off the royalties of the business you created?
- Do you love what you do and can’t imagine doing anything else?
- Are you an artist who dreams of making a name for yourself?
It’s not about what the desire is, it is something you can get behind that you are willing to step into with both feet and grab an umbrella and rainboots when it storms. It’s about never giving up, never giving in and never quitting – you.
