Thriving beyond the impossibility of balance

Having a family and being an entrepreneur can feel at times like one of life‘s greatest juggling acts. Having time for your children, your partner, your business, and even a trace of self-care can seem virtually impossible in the pace of the world today.

For so many people, the challenge is balancing it all so that everybody (and everything) gets what they need.

What if balance was not actually a thing to strive for, but an impossible benchmark that leaves you constantly judging where your attention and energy should and should not go? What if there was a different way to have a thriving family, business, and life that is way more fun, more easeful for you, and includes you dynamically every step of the way?

Here are three things to consider that will help you thrive beyond the impossibility of balance:

1) You matter!

As a mom, a businesswoman, a leader, a partner – you actually are central to all of the roles that you have in your life and all of your responsibilities.  If you are not in the equation, and you’re not enjoying your day to day life, you cannot actually be the contribution to the people around you that you have the capacity to be. Put yourself first and make sure that what you are doing is nourishing to you – and it will nourish those around you as a result.

2) Make sure you are having fun!

That may seem like a lofty and unimportant ideal, but if you are not having fun, then nobody around you will be either. What if life was actually about the enjoyment of it, rather than the doing and the grind?

Having fun can look a million different ways and is often not what we think it is. What if having fun was being in your creative zone? Or simply taking time to let it all go and giggle with your children? What if having fun was caring for your body every day in ways that you have not before?

3) Let go of judgment!

Balance is about judging where we need to be, and with whom, when. The computation of what is supposed to be going on and where we are supposed to use our energy can kill your presence with yourself, your business, your family, and so on. The idea of balance is simply a judgment of where you are and where are you are not performing.

Instead: know what you know.

You will know when your child requires you. You will know when it is time to do that thing in your business that will change everything if you do it. You will know when it is time to take time out for you, move your body, care for you. You will know when an evening with your partner is the very thing that will allow everything that are doing in your life to thrive. You know. Now your task is to trust that knowing and stop judging yourself for where you think you are missing the mark!

Women are blessed with the superpower of intuition that allows us to know of how to move through the world, how to include everybody and everything in our lives, and how to be the best ‘us’ that we can be.

All you have to do is trust yourself! You know.

And when you follow that, and listen to that, everything moves with elegance and ease.

What if everything in your life, including your business, was here to actually make your life greater? What if all of it could contribute to you? Instead of making yourself a slave to your business, your family, and your roles – let go and know that it will all be taken care of in an even greater way when you are enjoying your life.

Choose to thrive, choose to have fun, choose to value you, and you will see every area of your life flourish beyond what you can imagine!
