A large part of being successful is having the confidence in yourself as well as the determination that you can achieve anything you put your mind to. That’s why it’s important to always have a positive attitude and be willing to do whatever it takes in order to further your career.
You will find that some of the most successful people will have exactly this attitude and most will have a set of phrases they use every day, whether they are aware of it or not.
While this may not seem crucial, these phrases have the power to lead people to do great things in business — and could do the same for you.
1. Let me give you a hand
One of the best ways to ensure things will be done in business the way you want them to is by teaching others your methods.
As you continue to succeed and progress in your line of work you will find yourself in a position of power and thus have others look to you for guidance.
This provides you with the opportunity to teach them exactly how you want things to be done and thus increases not only your chances of success and progression but theirs and the companies as well.
2. You’re welcome
Once you’ve finished showing someone the correct method to performing a task, be sure to always say ‘You’re welcome’ once they say ‘Thank-you.’
You don’t ever want to be considered a rude or unprofessional businesswoman because that can seriously damage your image and thus your chances of success.
It may not seem important at the time, but it will leave the other person feeling much better about the encounter and will have them wanting to do business with you again.
3. That was great
Providing positive feedback when appropriate is also necessary if you want to be successful in business.
It’s important to build a relationship with your coworkers and let them know they are doing a good job, as you never know when you may need their help.
This is why it’s better to show them you appreciate and recognize all the hard work they are doing rather than ignoring it.
4. Can you show me?
As a businesswoman, not only will you constantly be teaching and helping others, but you will also find yourself needing to learn new ways to do certain things at work.
When this does occur you shouldn’t feel embarrassed about it, don’t ever think you can’t seek help or clarification when you need it.
Because no matter how great of a businesswoman you are, there is always a way you can improve and become even better.
Therefore, when you do find yourself needing advice don’t hesitate to ask someone if they can show you how to do something, because if you don’t you’re only hurting your own chances of success.
5. That’s a good idea, but what if we do this?
Sharing your ideas with your coworkers is something you’re going to have to get used to if you are serious about being successful in whatever line of business you’re in.
Understandably, you may be hesitant to share your ideas if you’re afraid they won’t be received positively, but there’s also the possibility they will be and that’s a chance you shouldn’t pass up.
If someone shares their idea and you think there is a way you can improve it or there is a better alternative, speak up otherwise no one will see your true potential and then you may not progress further in your business.
6. If you don’t want to do it, I will
In business, you will find there are many people who won’t want to go the extra mile at work; they simply want to do the bare minimum and nothing more.
These are the kind of people who provide you with the perfect opportunity to showcase just how determined and professional you really are.
If they aren’t willing to do something don’t be afraid to put your hand up and volunteer, as it shows your superiors you’re willing to do whatever it takes to help the company and that is the kind of people they want leading others.
7. I may not finish it today, but I’ll start it
There will also be times in business where you may be starting a new project one day, but know you won’t be finishing it anytime soon.
In these situations you need to remember you can’t rush anything.
Don’t try to speed up the process of something in order to finish it earlier, take your time and ensure everything is done correctly as it saves you from making any errors.
This is exactly what successful businesspeople do and is one of the main reasons as to why they are successful, they know not everything can be done in a day and simply work as quickly and efficiently as they can.
8. I’ll prove you wrong
One of the biggest motivations for people to do well is proving their critics wrong.
If you find yourself being told you can’t do something or that someone else can do it better, don’t be discouraged be motivated instead.
Follow the lead of many successful people and say ‘I’ll prove you wrong’ and then do exactly that.
9. I was wrong
One of the main things you need to prepare for before entering into the business world is that there will in fact be times where you’re wrong, there’s simply no avoiding it.
But this doesn’t have to be an issue unless you let it, it’s okay to be wrong as long as you admit it and learn from it.
Don’t pout or try to shift the blame onto someone else as this will only reflect poorly on you and diminish your chances of success.
If you ask any successful businessperson they will tell you there have definitely been time where they were wrong in business, but it’s what they did after to rectify the matter that determined whether they’d succeed or not.
10. I can do better
Another part of being a successful businesswoman is knowing where your strengths and weaknesses lie and setting out to improve the latter.
If you’ve recently completed a task but are not happy with the outcome or find yourself always having to do the same task repeatedly at work, find a way to improve your method for performing the task.
Again, it is important to remember not to be discouraged and instead work towards finding a solution that will allow you to create quicker and more efficient results.
11. I will do better
Once you’ve found a way to improve something you are doing, you need to do it.
Don’t wait around for the next opportunity you have, instead create one and show your coworkers you are determined to improve yourself and increase not only your own success but the success of the company as well.
There are obviously many phrases successful people say throughout their career, which have played a part in them achieving their success.
While you may not have seen the connection initially, it should now be clear your attitude is everything and what you say can truly make or break your career and that is why using these phrases in your everyday life are vital to achieving career success.
