If only there was a diet where eating chocolate 24/7 was acceptable. Unfortunately there isn’t, but there’s no shortage of fad diets. Dieting has been a fascination for many women, with it having an extreme interest in the 1800s . As a society today, we are persistent when it comes to staying in shape. New fad diets are being created all the time with leading women in the public eye largely being the advocates.

Paleo Diet one of the fad diets?
This diet is one of the most popular among successful women. The diet allows an intake of protein and kicks out sugars and highly carbonated fats that can undermine your potential to tone and shape up. Nuts, fruits and meats are options within this diet, while staying away from dairy, starches and even alcohol is considered a necessity. This diet is strongly advocated by successful women such as Gwenyth Paltrow and Jessica Biel.

5:2 Diet
The ‘5:2 diet’ is also commonly know as the ‘fast diet’ . The concept requires the participant to consume whatever foods you like for five days straight (maybe chocolate dieting is okay after all), then for two days fasting is undertaken in which only a quarter of the recommended daily intake is eaten. This works out to be just 500 calories, ladies. This diet’s premise is fairly appealing, however many question its safety. Mood swings, energy loss and hunger pangs are among some of the symptoms faced often by those undertaking the method of weight loss. Despite this, followers such as Miranda Kerr, Jennifer Aniston and Jennifer Lopez are all advocating the diet.

Fad Diets : The Cleanse Diet
Beyoncé lost 20 pounds within two weeks using this dieting fad. The cleanse diet is a liquid fast that allows things like maple syrup and lemonade. It claims to provide a total cleanse of your system, washing away all toxins. Purchase of powders and shakes is also urged. The diet is designed to be an attempt to reset the digestive system, helping the weight to drop quickly. With 6-12 glasses of water mixed with lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper for 10-40 days, Beyoncé used this method as a way to drop weight for her role in Dream Girls back in 2006. She admits to cheating, eating proteins such as fish and meats alongside the liquids. She also admits to being cranky while on the diet and was disappointed to see that the weight piled back on after the regime finished.

The Baby Food Diet
This one is something of a laugh! The name pretty much says it all really. It’s a diet that consists of consuming baby food, and was started celebrity personal trainer Tracy Anderson. The diet helps to control portions and cuts calories down, replacing one or two meals a day with a tub of baby food where calories range from 20 to 100 per jar. Rules for this diet range widely as nothing is mapped out for how you are actually supposed to undertake the diet. As many people can’t go more than two spoons of meat and pea flavored baby food, portion control is something that can be quickly established. Film star Reese Witherspoon has turned to this diet to detoxify her body and help with easing of digestion. But with a maximum of 800 calories a day this diet is recommended as a no-go by us.
