3 Character traits that women must have to be a successful entrepreneur

on

In the world of business, there are so many tips, tricks, and guidelines you can follow to be the ultimate entrepreneur, right? The mechanics of it all… like hiring the right people, choosing the right web hosting platform, and making lots of money without spending a lot of money to do it. Those are all great factors, as well as true components to being a successful entrepreneur but to even be an entrepreneur, there are certain character traits you must possess.

Female entrepreneurs are taking the world by storm in any business realm you can think of. Whether it be fashion, medicine, or finance, women are becoming a force to be reckoned with and are now changing the stereotypes of the job market in male-dominated industries. For women entrepreneurs, their success can be traced back to a simple work ethic… if you see a problem, work to find a solution to that problem.

It’s really as simple as that. That theory can be applied to finances. If you want to have more money, cut back on spending or find another source of income. It can also be applied to something as simple as washing your family’s white clothes… if the whites don’t come out fully white, the solution would be to add a little more bleach to the water… or buy more socks and T-shirts! Whichever route you take, the key component is to have a solution in mind.

It’s all about perspective

This might be hard for men to accept but women bring a new and totally different perspective to business when it comes to entrepreneurship and oftentimes, it’s their fresh and new perspectives that make them better entrepreneurs. Honestly, it’s one of those things where you either have “it” or you don’t.

In all facets, women view the world with a different eye that looks through a different lens, especially with women entrepreneurs. They approach business problems differently and definitely find solutions to those problems differently than a male entrepreneur but that’s what makes the world as diverse as it is, right? It just depends on who’s looking and the lens their using… perspective.

Do you have “It” or Do you not?

If this is supposed to be a “man’s world,” then how come so many women entrepreneurs have gone on to establish their own businesses and become successful without the help of any man? It’s because of those intangible qualities.

These intangible qualities aren’t necessarily designated to women only but they are qualities that you either have or you don’t. The women who do possess these qualities have all the opportunity in the world to position themselves for success. Take a look at some of the character traits that make women entrepreneurs so fierce in the business world.

Intuition… the priceless intangible

You know how they say a woman has intuition… well, believe the hype because a woman’s intuition is a real thing, not some myth, and it’s something money can’t buy when running a business. Women entrepreneurs have no problem turning to their intuition either, especially in difficult situations where you need to make an important business decision.

Business situations have their own unique challenges that require you to tap into your problem-solving skills. You’ll do the necessary research and collect the necessary data you need to help you make an informed decision… and all of those efforts still don’t help you. That’s when you sometimes just have to go with what your gut is telling you. In fact, Forbes.com states that intuition is an essential business tool that helps with decision-making.

To be successful, you have to be resourceful

As mentioned earlier, when women see or find a problem, they immediately try to find a solution to that problem. Well, for women entrepreneurs, turn the dial up on finding a solution. When women entrepreneurs see or find a problem, they shift their brains into overdrive and immediately work to find a solution.

These women can’t always slow down or stop to fix all the problems and challenges that may arise so they have to think quickly and fix things along the way. If a business owner is consistently having technical glitches on her website, she knows that could cost her money, so what is she going to do? She is going to do what all business owners should do and hire an IT company that will make sure your business runs at an optimum level.

It’s things like that, that make you have to think quickly on your feet. Hiring that IT company would be resourceful because you would be able to get the problem fixed in a timely fashion without it costing you too much if any, money at all.

Mindful: the art of thinking of others

A lot of times, many female entrepreneurs never have the idea of becoming mega-millionaires in mind when coming up with their business plans. Oftentimes, the thought processes of these masterminds come from humble beginnings.

They may just want to help others feel good about themselves (Sara Blakely, creator of SPANX) or they just want to create products that don’t harm their babies (Jessica Alba, creator of The Honest Company), wherever their inspiration came from, the business has a clear intention and purpose in mind to be the solution to some sort of problem. Whether that problem was something personal they were going through themselves or knew that it was a problem among many people, the solution was created with others in mind.

Take this home with you…

If you’re considering pursuing a career as a female entrepreneur, don’t be afraid to do it. Will it have its challenges? Yes. Will you want to give up at times? Yes, but those are all reasons to stick with it. If you want to take your business to the next level, it’s going to take consistency, determination, and the will to not give up on yourself.

How do you think today’s big brands got their start? Those female entrepreneurs had to start somewhere, so why not give yourself that same opportunity? You either have it or you don’t, right? But you won’t know unless you try.
