High Ponytail
The high ponytail is an elegant and chic way to add some pizzaz to any look. It’ll also keep strands away from your face while you work the room! First, give your hair some texture with some sea salt spray or dry shampoo. Then, pull your hair up towards the crown of your head- remember to pull it upwards and not just towards the back.
Next, secure with a hair elastic and wrap a section of hair around it for a polished look. For added volume, you can tease the ponytail with a fine-tooth comb.
Low Chignon
A full updo can be restricting and time-consuming, both things which are not ideal in preparation for a work function. Enter: the low chignon. Part your hair down the centre and choose which side you want your chignon to rest on.
Then, pull your hair to that side and create two ponytails. Tie the two ponytails into a loose knot and wrap one side around to the right and secure with a bobby pin. Repeat on the other side and you’re done!

The half-up, half-down style has been one of 2015’s ‘It’ styles, and for good reason. Not only is it a great way to rock an effortless yet put together look, it’s also an extremely versatile hairstyle that can be modified for different occasions.
To get this look, fast, spritz your roots with volumising mist, and use your fingers to pull the sides of your hair back into a fish tail braid..
This look works great smooth, or with some soft waves throughout your hair, so if you’ve got time the night before to plan ahead for the function, consider putting some rollers in your locks!
