Remix your content and boost your brand

on

Digital content is that magical magnet that attracts clients to your business. It helps show that you know what you’re talking about. It helps warm up a cold audience. It helps you become the go-to in your field.

You can create killer content to get you found online, without selling your soul or chaining yourself to fancy software, I promise.

But first, let’s clear something up.Digital content.Something that befuddles many a business owner. What is it?

It’s blog posts. It’s tweets. It’s webinars. It’s podcasts. It’s white papers. It’s video tutorials. It’s emails. It’s static web content. It’s live streams. It’s downloadables. It’s Instagram graphics. It’s slides hares. It’s pins.

Essentially, it’s anything you can create online… but that doesn’t mean you have to do it all.
Pick a format you love and run with it.Now let’s get to the good stuff – how can you remix your content in a way that gets you found online?

The personal power paradigm

It all starts with your personal power paradigm. That’s all the stuff that makes you YOU. Your education.Your experience.Your expertise.Your interests.Your quirks.Your guilty pleasures.

These are all elements that can be infused in every piece of your digital content (if you’re looking to stand out from the masses, that is).

The public power paradigm

The next thing to add to the content mix is your public power paradigm.Keep your finger on the pulse of what’s going on in your industry (and beyond). Stay on top of trending topics, and think about how you can piggyback on that success in an authentic way.

The last (but in no way least important) aspect of your public power paradigm is much narrower in focus – it’s all about your audience. What are they struggling with? What are they asking you? How can you help them? This is exactly what every piece of content should circle back to.

Remix and repurpose

Bringing together your personal power paradigm and your public power paradigm is what makes you stand out online. You want to be creating the content people crave, in a way that’s noticeably you.

Once you’ve hacked this formula, you’ll be left with a batch of targeted, on-the-money content, made compelling by that personal touch.

Once you’ve started creating killer content, you need to keep the conversation going. My favourite way to do this is to repurpose my content for different platforms, and for different people.

For example, I might start with a live broadcast in my Facebook community. Then I could get that live stream transcribed, and turn it into a blog post (with a downloadable content upgrade to help build my list). I might then pull out a few killer quotes and turn them into graphics for Instagram, and my Facebook page.

I’d also make a note of any questions or comments I receive on these different pieces of content, and use them to feed my content plan going forward.

Killer digital content does not have to be another source of overwhelm. With clarity, confidence, and a little bit of know-how you can pull your business straight into that spotlight and take over the stage.
